Srinagar, December 01 (Scoop News) – Jamaat-e-Islami, J&K urges the govt. of India to take effective steps for putting a stop the vandalism and not to create any obstructions to the Kashmiri leaders in conveying their viewpoint to the Indian people.

In a statement Zahid Ali Advocate,Spokesperson of Jamaat-e-Islami said that the attack on Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq by some communalist elements in New Delhi is an obvious indication of their cowardice and nervousness who consider the admission of truth equivalent to that of defeat.

He further said that these elements cannot keep the Indians in the dark for long time and the day will come when the majority of the people ofIndia will support the right movement of the people of J&K for the restoration of their basic right of self determination. On that day, the Indian govt. along with these communal elements will repent their past activities and surrender before the truth.

Further, Jama'at vehemently criticizes the  filing the case of sedition against senior most Kashmiri Leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and other speakers in a Delhi seminar in which they while exercising their basic right of freedom of speech, put their views based on historical facts about the Kashmir Issue before the audience. This case infringes the basic values of democracy and human rights, and needs to be withdrawn forthwith.

Statement  also condemend the police action of re-arresting Kashmir Bar President Mian Abdul Qayoom soon after his release on the orders of the local high court.

Jama'at  demanded an early and unconditional release of Mian Ab Qayoom, M Ashraf Sahrai, Gen Musa, G Nabi Sumji, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr Qasim, M Shafi Reshi, G N Shaheen, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, M Rafiq Ganai, Hameeda Sofi, Masarat Aalam, M Yusuf Mujahid etc. and all other detained political leaders and hundreds of youth arrested for allegations of stone pelting.

Meanwhile All Parties Hurriyat Conference, chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the Kashmiris' struggle for securing their right to self-determination is totally indigenous.

Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, today, the APHC Chairman said, the indigenous character of the movement is fully recognized by the people in India and this development has caused frustration to the Indian rulers and Hindu extremists.

Earlier an extra ordinary meeting of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Executive Members was held at APHC central office Srinagar today chaired by its chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Umer Farooq and attended by Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Bilal Gani Lone, Abdullah Tarri and other Executive Members. In the meeting a threadbare discussion was thrashed-out about recent political situation of Kashmir.

Jammu Kashmir Peoples League also held an important meeting at its head office chaired by its acting chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has urged the people to continue peaceful struggle till Right to Self Determination is achieved. He maintained that the voice of Kashmiri people could not be suppressed by hooliganism and force. The dispute, he added, is of political nature and should be resolved through negotiations including Pakistan,India and true representatives of Kashmiri people.
