Indefinite Demonstration begins at Robertsgunj
To protest against the illegal land acquisition by the Uttar Pradesh government in the name of building a dam over the Kanhar river, unwarranted police firing on peaceful protest of people, illegal arrest and incarceration of leading comrades Roma, Sukalo Gond, Gambhira Prasad, Pankaj Gautam, Asharfi Yadav and Lakhsman Prasad on false charges and demanding their unconditional release Dalit, Adivasi men and women members of the Union have started an indefinite demonstration programme in front of the District Court premises in the Sonbhadra district headquarter town of Robertsgunj.
About a thousand people came from different parts of the district in the form of rallies and gathered at the District Court premises to begin their demonstration programme. Other than participation from the villages in Sonbhadra district it was heartening to see the participation of more than four hundred comrades from distant Chitrakoot district. Women leaders of the Union like Hulsi, Shobha,Lalti Paswan, Dhanpatti devi and other leaders like Ramashankar, Shyam Lal Paswan, Mata Dayal, Sanjay Singh addressed the programme and all of them clearly stated that the district police and administration were working hand in glove with the mining and land mafia of the district to oppress and terrorise the adivasi dalit people of this region by grabbing their land, by raping them, by indiscriminately firing on them, by putting them and senior leaders behind bars on false charges and that people will no longer tolerate this oppression anymore.
While being produced in the court for extension of their judicial remand Roma addressed the people telling them that it was their show of strength on the ground which would help her and other comrades to get their release rather than the legal process. Roma, Sukalo , Gambhira and other comrades were sent back to Mirzapur jail after their judicial remand was extended by another 2 weeks.
People have spontaneously decided that this will be an indefinite relay demonstration programme which will go on for at least a month.

आज दिनांक 25 जुलाई 2015 को उ0प्र0 के जनपद सोनभद्र तहसील परिसर में कनहर बाॅध के नाम पर सरकार द्वारा किए जा रहे अवैध भू-अधिग्रहण, शांतिपूर्ण आंदोलन पर पुलिस गोलीबारी व फर्जी मुकदमों में फंसा कर अग्रणी आंदोलनकारी रोमा, सोकालो पनिका, गम्भीरा प्रसाद, पंकज गौतम, लक्ष्मण व अशर्फी यादव को जेल भेजने के विरोध में उनकी बिना शर्त रिहाई की मांग को लेकर दलित आदिवासी व गरीब किसान महिला पुरुषों ने अनिश्चितकालीन धरने की शुरुआत कर दी है। सुब्हा करीब 11.30 पर लोग रेलवे स्टेशन मार्ग स्थित डंडई बाबा के स्थान पर करीब 1000 की संख्या में इकट्ठा हुए और रैली निकाल कर 12.00 बजे के आस-पास तहसील परिसर में पहुंचे। इनमें ए.आई.यू.एफ.डब्लू.पी के अग्रणी साथी मातादयाल के नेतृत्व में जनपद चित्रकूट मानिकपुर से करीब 400 लोगों का शामिल होना बहुत उत्साहजनक रहा। वहां जाकर यह रैली एक जनसभा में तब्दील हो गई। चुंकि आज सभी बंदी साथियों की कोर्ट में पेशी भी होनी थी। करीब एक बजे जेल की गाड़ी में सभी साथी तहसील पहुंचे। महिलाएं जोकि पहले से ही अपनी मांगों को लेकर जमकर नारें लगा रहीं थी, जेल में बन्द साथियों के वहां पहुंचने पर 1000 से अधिक की संख्या में लोगों ने उनका नारों की रफ्तार को और तेज़ करते हुए जोशीले नारे लगाकर उनका स्वागत किया। इस रैली की अगुवाई हुलसी, धनपति देवी, शोभा, लालती पासवान, मातादयाल, संजय सिंह, श्यामलाल पासवान, रमाशंकर ने की। धरने को मातादयाल, हुलसी देवी, संजय सिंह आदि ने सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा कि सोनभद्र पुलिस और प्रशासन ने यहां के गुंडो व खनन माफियाओं के साथ मिलकर आदिवासी-दलित व गरीब लोगों की ज़मीनें छीनने, उनपर गोली चलाने व झूठे मुकदमें लाद कर अग्रणी साथियों को जेल भेजने की कार्रवाईयां करके दमन का जो चक्र चला रखा है, वो अब हम और बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकते, इस दमन व अवैध भू-अधिग्रहण के खिलाफ हम अपने संघर्ष को यहां तो जारी रखेंगे ही, भू अधिकार आंदोलन के तहत हम इसे राष्ट्रीय स्तर तक भी ले जाएंगे। आज से हम सोनभद्र की तहसील परिसर में अपनी मांगों को लेकर एक अनिश्चित कालीन क्रमिक धरने की शुरुआत का ऐलान करते हैं।
धरने पर बैठे लोगों को साथी रोमा ने समय और मौका कम दिए जाने के कारण इतना ही कहा कि ''हम अगर जेल से छूट कर बाहर आएंगे तो वो किसी कानूनी कार्रवाई के कारण नहीं आएंगे, आपकी मज़बूती और आंदोलन की ताकत से ही हम बाहर आ सकते हैं''। उन्होंने साथियों से प्रशासन पर दबाव बनाए रखने का भी आह्वान किया। करीब 4 बजे उन्हें व उनके साथ आए साथियों को जेल की गाड़ी से मिजऱ्ापुर के लिए रवाना कर दिया गया।
क्रमिक धरने की भावी रूपरेखा को लेकर वहां मौज़ूद साथियों ने आपस में बातचीत करके करीब एक महीने का कार्यक्रम तय कर लिया है और धरना ज़ारी है।
