Meeting of the Friend of Telangana
held on 11 February 2013 at 4, Windor Place, New Delhi
The participant discussed the present scenario emerging after the submission of the Srikrishna Committee Report on Telangana, and decided the following:
The Srikrishna Committee Report needs to be rejected in toto since it fails to reflect the democratic aspirations of the people of Telangana.
A press conference will be held on 18 January 2011 at the Press Club which will present a critique of the Srikrishna Committee Report, and will announce the future programmes that will be taken p by Friends of Telangana in support of the movement for separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital.
A protest demonstration will be held at Jantar Mantar on 19 January 2011 to demand the introduction of a bill in the coming Budget Session of the Parliament for the formation of Telangana state and to demand the immediate withdrawal of police and paramilitary forces from the university campuses and other locations.
A public meeting will be held on 1st or 2nd February 2011 (at LTG Auditorium or Rajendra Bhavan) with participants and speakers from Telangana, AP and Delhi. The conveners of the Friends of Telangana will prepare a draft note as well as draw up a list of prospective speakers.
