An Iranian parliamentarian has said that, Simon Gass, the UK ambassador to Tehran, has been barred from returning after he insulted the great Iranian nation.

Simon Gass ignited a diplomatic spat between the two countries when he posted a statement on the website of the British Embassy, criticizing human rights situation in Iran.

Gass made the statement after Iranian officials and the media denounced the British government for violently cracking down on the countries' student protesters who were marching to protest against the government's policies and the unprecedented increase in university tuition fees to at least £9000. The students will never forget either that Britain's  Monarchichal Government Establishment was awarded permanent yearly increases of hundreds of millions of pounds sterling while the rest of have to face  extensive cuts. To make matters worse, the Queen and her royal  familiy approved and accepted the disgraceful increases. That is a direct snub against the British people. William Gladys.

"Nowhere in the world, lawyers, journalists, NGO members feel such pressure, as in Iran," said an obviously enraged Gass whose mission as a diplomat was due to be a facilitator of bilateral relations and not someone who worked for damaging historical ties between Tehran and London.

Shortly afterwards, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament approved a bill on December 19 that requires a complete break of ties, including political, cultural and economic relations with the UK.

Gass whose tenure as an ambassador ends in April is banned to return after the Foreign Office called him back for consultation.

Hossein Ebrahimi, a member of the parliament was quoted by Internet newspaper javanonline.ir as saying that Gass has been banned to return after he allowed himself to level such insulting and humiliating words towards the great Iranian nation and the government.

"At present he is outside the country. He is banned to return to Iran. The Iranian officials have taken this decision in response to Gass' actions against the Iranian people," said the MP.

Gass was also summoned to the Foreign Ministry at the time where he was strongly rebuked for his interference in Iran's domestic affairs.

However, he was knighted by the Queen Elizabeth II for his meddlesome activities and the UK government also lobbied fellow NATO members to assign the disgraced ambassador to Kabul as the military alliance's civilian representative to win him some respect.
