New Delhi, Mar 31: Buoyed by his cricket diplomacy, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday said that India and Pakistan must "find ways" to resolve whatever be the "differences" between the two neighbours. He said the two countries should put their "ancient animosities" behind them and work for a "permanent reconciliation" in the region.

Singh also said that he and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani reaffirmed their resolve to make every "honest effort" to overcome difficulties coming in the way of improving bilateral relations.
"Whatever be the differences between our two countries, we have to find ways to resolve them," he said.

The prime minister was briefing reporters on his dinner-eve meeting with Gilani on the margins of India-Pakistan World Cup cricket semi final match at Mohali last evening.

Singh also gave the "beautiful game" of cricket credit in being a "uniting factor" to bring the two prime ministers together. "Cricket", Singh said "has been a uniting factor. It has brought our two PMs together and I dare say that's a very good beginning".

He said the "message" from Mohali is that the people of the two countries want to live in "peace and amity".

At the dinner meeting, Singh said the two countries "should be working together to find cooperative solutions and need permanent reconciliation to live together in dignity and honour".

"We should put our ancient animosities behind us to attend to the problems of our nations," he said.

Singh said; "Gilani Sahab and I have had extensive discussions on all outstanding issues and we have reaffirmed our resolve that there are difficulties in the way but we will make every honest effort to overcome those difficulties. And the message from Mohali is that the people of India and Pakistan want to live in peace and amity and that the two PMs have committed their governments to work in that direction," he said.

Singh said he was "very grateful" to Gilani for "having accepted my invitation to join me in watching this beautiful game of cricket".

Gilani on his part termed his talks with Singh as "positive" and said they discussed all the core issues between the two countries.

"Talks were positive. We discussed all the core issues between the two countries," Gilani told the Pakistan media in a brief chat after his dinner meeting.

"We don't want that we are unable to resolve our own issues. We have the capacity and ability to resolve our issues by ourselves. We held talks on all outstanding issues and Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) showed magnanimity by saying he is ready to resolve all issues by sitting together", the Pakistan Prime Minister said.

"Today's match brought the peoples and leadership of the two countries together. This, I believe, is the positive outcome of today's semi-final", Gilani said.
Gilani said "winning or losing a game does not matter more than its quality and the team spirit" and congratulated both the teams "for demonstrating sportsmanship and quality game".
The Pakistan Prime Minister felicitated the Indian team for showing better performance and determination and said the Pakistan team also did put up resistance but it was not their day.
Gilani conveyed to the people of India that Pakistan wanted good neighbourly relations and "the resolution of all issues through dialogue will bring peace and prosperity to our people".
Gilani told PTV that "winning and losing is something that has its own place but this is a victory for cricket and the two countries".

"On the basis of this, we came together today and we held discussions on the sidelines (of the game) and we talked on all issues. It is our determination that we will resolve all issues", he said.
Gilani said "I congratulate the (Indian) Prime Minister for the resumption of the composite dialogue. It was his promise in Thimphu and it was in the spirit of Thimphu that meeting of the Interior Secretaries was very successful. A good message has gone.

"We don't want that we are unable to resolve our own issues. We have the capacity and ability to resolve our issues by ourselves.  We held talks on all outstanding issues and Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) showed magnanimity by saying he is ready to resolve all issues by sitting together", the Pakistan Prime Minister said.

He said "we want positive messages to be sent by both countries and our common enemy is poverty, hunger, disease, unemployment. We should give attention to that and Prime Minister (Singh) has said earlier and is saying today that the intention of both of us is to resolve these issues and both the countries should prosper. There should be prosperity and development.
Gilani invited Singh and Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi to visit Pakistan.

341 custodial deaths in 21 years: Govt

Jammu, Mar 31: After the recent report of Amnesty International on human rights violations in Kashmir, the State Government Thursday accepted that 341 persons have been killed in custody so far in the state since 1990.

In a written reply to a question of NC member Javed Rana in the Legislative Council, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said 341 people died in police custody in the state since 1990. However, there was no report of any custodial death from Rajouri and Poonch districts.

The Chief Minister said 113 people -- 99 from Poonch and 14 from Rajouri -- are reported missing since 1990. Similarly, the Government said 104 people were killed in last year's summer unrest while 962 were injured and 18 crippled for life.

Replying to a question of independent MLA from Langate, Engineer Rasheed, the Chief Minister said, "Probe has been ordered in 17 killings so far and Rs 10 crore have been sanctioned in favour of the families of the victims." (KNS)

Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another:

The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practice regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise. (Al_Quraan_009.071)

True Muslim won't ever tell a lie or deceive or betray:

It is well known that a true Muslim won't ever tell a lie or deceive or betray. A true Muslim always is trustworthy and honest. If a Muslim is found to behave against Islamic morals, then he should be advised. If he ignores advice, the matter is left to those who have the authority among them to punish him accordingly. Also, for the one who renounces from Islam, he should be reminded and called again to Islam. If he doesn't repent, those in authority of Muslims there must execute him.

Hypocrites are treated as Muslims, and their secrets are left to Allah:

As in the case of hypocrites, it is well known that we don't know what's hidden in their hearts. Hypocrites in Islam are treated as Muslims, and their secrets are left to Allah, the Almighty (for judgment).

Materialistic Muslims:

Many Muslims today care about their worldly pleasure. They spend too much money in non-Islamic things and they have complete disregard to the poor. Plus they are very materialistic and buy too expensive (to their own budget) things. They are complete show-offs, who like "to be seen of men (Al_Quraan_004.142)" and "Those who (want but) To be seen (of men) (Al_Quraan_107.006)".

Hypocrites make a great show of hollow acts of goodness, devotion, BUT:

"Hypocrites make a great show of hollow acts of goodness, devotion. But they fail signally if you test them by little acts of neighborly / friendly help or, the thousand little courtesies and kindness of daily life, the supply of needs which cost little but mean much."

Hypocrites enjoins evil:

"The Hypocrites, men and women, (have an understanding) with each other: They enjoin evil, and forbid what is just, and are close with their hands. They have forgotten God; so He hath forgotten them. Verily the Hypocrites are rebellious and perverse. (Al_Quraan_009.067)"

Like Allah Almighty said in the Noble Verse, they enjoin evil and forbid what is just. Some of those people pray and some of their women even cover up their hairs in public. Don't be fooled by them. They are still hypocrites no matter how many times they pray. They are liars and complete show-offs, who like "to be seen of men (Al_Quraan_004.142)" and "Those who (want but) To be seen (of men) (Al_Quraan_107.006)".

Friendships with Hypocrites:

According to the Noble Verses above, any Muslim who questions the existence of Allah Almighty and criticizes the Truth of Islam after the Truth was made clear to them is a hypocrite. Any Muslim who talks rude or in foul language about Islam and Allah Almighty is a hypocrite. Any Muslim who continues his friendship with such person is like him. He becomes a hypocrite.

Allah knows, how he will deal with them on the day of judgment:

It's hard to say how Allah Almighty will determine the forgiveness to some of the hypocrites. I am sure it will all depend on: Their intentions and repentance in life; Their actions toward Allah Almighty and the amount of damage they caused their fellow Muslims.

If a Muslim tells lies about other Muslims, or other people, with no proof, no evidence, and he continues to spread Fitnah (disbelief, mischief, evil etc.) in the community, after he has been warned, can he be punished? And what is the punishment for the Munafiqeen (hypocrites).

DIGNITY Action for Justice and Peace A message to all members of DIGNITY http://www.facebook.com/note.php?created&&note_id=10150137642801139&id=127636853311   Statement of Cynthia McKinney Newseum Press Conference on Libya Thursday, 31 March 2011   I am pleased to stand with my colleagues today who are outraged at Nobel Peace Laureate President Obama's decision to wage war on Africa in Libya.  At the outset, let me state that Libya is home to tens of thousands or more of foreign students and guest workers.  The students come from Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somalia.  The messages I have received from concerned Africans state that these young innocent people, inaccurately labeled by the U.S. press as "black mercenaries," have been trapped in hostile territory and are hated by the U.S.-allied Al Qaeda insurgents.  The press forgot that Libya is in Africa and that Libyans are Black! I would also like to acknowledge the outrage of the Women International Democratic Federation of Brazil that repudiates the invasion of Libya.  They point specifically to the depressed state of women in pre-Qaddafi Libya and how women now have positions that had once been denied to them.  They note in their communiqué that the National Front of the Salvation of Libya has been financed by the C.I.A. since 1981 and that its headquarters is in Washington, D.C. In fact, I have received messages and phone calls from people literally all over the world who are outraged at this action.   And because the media cannot be relied upon to tell the truth, I repeat the call that I received directly from Libya yesterday for international observers to go to Libya to tell the world the truth.  I would go. Sadly, President Obama's justification for war provides answers that don't answer, explanations that don't explain, and conclusions that don't conclude.  Reports continue to emerge of the US ties to the so-called rebel leaders:  the latest being that Khalifa Hifter, latest leader of the rebel army, spent much of the past 20 years in Langley, Virginia.  He didn't even move to Baltimore to disguise the relationship!  Moreover, General Wesley Clarke told us that Libya was on the U.W. hitlist ten years ago! This is nothing new.  This operation smells very much like so many other Africa operations fueled by U.S.-supported individuals who become a rebel force able to threaten an inconvenient leader who stands up to the U.S.  This particular play has been repeated in Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, and Angola and Mozambique before them.  We are not blind; we recognize this play.  And the use of depleted uranium will cause health effects for generations to come. Pentagon Secretary Gates said "Libya is not part of our vital interest."  Then why are we there?  Herein lies the conundrum.  President Obama has authorized secret support for its rebels in Libya, just like Miami's Cuban community has received for decades. Sadly, our President has chosen to spend $600 million per week in addition to other war costs at a time when the Black community is melting.  As of the most recent Economic Policy Institute study, average Black family wealth was $2,000 while that of Whites was $94,600.  President Obama has done nothing to address the disparities that have existed in this country since slavery.  Clearly, our President should focus on home and improving the lot of the people of this country before launching another war. Finally, I must say something about the ugly hate language that is emanating more and more from Black political voices.  Any politician seeking votes by exacerbating divisions in our country does not deserve our votes.  I'm speaking specifically about the unfortunate remarks of Herman Cain who should know better.
