LONDON, Feb 20 (APP)- World Kashmir Diaspora Alliance (WKDA) has slammed the International Cricket Council for allowing India an opportunity to air its malicious propaganda of depicting Kashmir as a state of India by showing a dancing event from Kashmir alongside its other states and using the opening ceremony of 2011 World Cup Cricket as a platform to gain its political ends.WKDA in its statement on Sunday said that Kashmir being an internationally accepted dispute subject to UN resolution and pending final status of Kashmir that is yet to be determined must be regarded by all International bodies including ICC.

It said that the ICC being an international organization of member countries must not be used by any of its member as a political platform to pursue its political agendas.

Flouting ICC for lack of the international moral standards and becoming a puppet in the hands of India because of its financial chunk of contribution, WKDA spokesperson said that sports must be kept out of politics.

WKDA spokesperson said that ICC Chief executive  Haroon Logart must stand to its policy statement of July 4th 2008 in which he had reiterated his organization's commitment to keep politics and sport separate.

WKDA said that it will bring this unacceptable behaviour of ICC to the notice of all cricketing nations Heads of states and to their respective Cricket Associations, so that India is not allowed to use sport as a means to propagate its malicious political ends.

The spokesperson said that definition of sports which stress that sports should be completely free from political interference, fair play, strict adherence to the internationally binding principles is an important ingredient that must always be safeguarded.
